A nasal or sinus endoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure performed under only a local anesthetic with the use of a thin, flexible, lighted camera called an endoscope. The endoscope is inserted into your nostrils, allowing for internal visualization of your nasal cavity and sinuses. After an endoscopy, your doctor can immediately provide you with a diagnosis and a customized treatment plan regarding your individual condition. An endoscopy can also be used to perform certain surgeries; the tools are passed alongside the endoscope, with no external incisions required and a quicker recovery time than traditional surgery.
